The Moon City Masters – “Over Now”

Imagine yourself roaming around in a world of endless city streets while smoking a cigar in your favourite pair of bell-bottom jeans.

Brooklyn rockers The Moon City Masters, take us on a wild ride to decades before, with a retrospective sound reminiscent of the 1970s.

Following the release of their 2019 EP The Adventures of the Moon City Masters, Jordan & Talor Steinberg channel an upbeat groove in their latest single, “Over Now.”

A sweet melody with a polite rhythmic pulse, driven by crunchy guitar riffs layered amongst exquisite harmonies, gives this track the soulful nostalgic vibe of disco while incorporating characteristics of feel-good rock. Telling of someone whose world is falling apart, as they’ve found themselves at a crossroads with a relationship. Although it is failing, they find it hard to walk away. Begging the question of “Should I Stay or Should I Go?”

The colourfully animated music video finds the band of brothers in a tussle with the sky and thunder God of ancient Greece as they get caught up in the mythological grasp of Zeus. They have now become Gods of their own. Rock Gods that is – among a disco world.
